Here at Sunnyside,
Equine Facilitated Learning means....
trust, connection and partnership between humans and horses to enhance wellbeing in people's lives.

Equine Assisted Learning and Wellbeing is the practice of facilitating connection and trust between humans and horses which in-turn enhances wellbeing in people's lives.

At Sunnyside, we work alongside our horses to form mutual partnerships and connections.
Our focus is centred on the well-being of humans AND horses, as these two concepts go hand in hand.
When individuals consciously become involved in, learn about, and communicate with horses, self-regulation and awareness grow, and the quality of life for the horse and the human has the potential to increase exponentially.

Our Sessions
During your time with us, you will experience connecting with our beautiful herd of horses.
Our sessions typically last about an hour, depending on the horses' well-being. As the horse's voice, I prioritise their welfare and your safety above all else.

We keep our sessions grounded—no horseback riding here. I believe the real magic happens when we meet the horses on their level. It’s where we connect, and work as equals in a partnership.

Examples of activities participants may engage in during a session are;

-
personal bubble
-
haltering a horse with consent
-
mindful grooming
-
becoming a team
-
using body language to communicate
-
forest bush walks
-
challenging obstacles
-
horse husbandry/stable duties
-
art in nature

No previous ‘horse’ experience is required as you will be taught all you need to know.
Our program is an investment in you.
Each session is conducted on a one-on-one basis with Becky and the herd. This approach guarantees that every participant receives the individualised attention and focus they deserve. Additionally, it ensures the paramount safety of everyone involved at all times.
